Full re-roof on an outbuilding to be turned into a fully functional living space.
The building’s roof joists and associated timbers were riddled with woodworm.
We stripped the whole roof and timbers right down to the brickwork and completely re-built the whole thing replacing old rosemary tiles with a flat concrete tile, replaced mortar bedded ridges with a dry ridge system and replaced wooden fascia with anthracite grey PVCu fascia along with anthracite grey guttering and fall pipe.
A real pleasure working on this little project and a real pleasure working for the lovely couple
Here we replaced a badly installed fibreglass flat garage roof.
The fibreglass had only been done a small matter of years and it had already started to strip and blow off. This was due to the wrong application and mix of materials.
We stripped the whole roof down to the timber deck, luckily the deck was not water damaged so it was fit to work and apply the liquid rubber upon it.
Firstly, we laid the rubber "base" coat. Secondly we laid the polylithuane netting into the coat section by section ensuring the correct overlap and application. Thirdly we applied another correct application of rubber "base" coat and allowed that to cure for 24 hours.
To finish off we returned to apply the smooth "finish" coat of liquid rubber and affixed the sleek white PVCu side and drip trims around the perimeter and re-dressed the lead into the main property to join the 2 buildings together.
Here's our largest job to date - some blood, sweat and tears went into this one, tying it all together all watertight, the property was having a full make over, inside and out.
Garage/Carport - Striped the whole hot felt roof down the rafters, laid new 18mm OSB boards, new fascias and guttering and covered using EPDM rubber roof system complete with sleek black edging trims
Front and rear dormer were completed just the same (front dormer was a tiled roof, back dormer was hot felt front). Each dormer had lead step flashing dressed down each cheek (side) and a front lead apron.
Lower extension - Stripped of the old hot felt and deck boards, we then began to start transforming this roof to a "warm" roof by installing a perimeter upstand to allow us to insulate the area with insulation after laying down the vapour barrier. We laid 18mm OSB boards over the top and an EPDM rubber roof system finished with sleek black edging trims.
Main roof - stripped to rafters, new breathable felt laid, new lattes and covered with grey double roman concrete tiles, finished with a dry ridge system and dry verge
